The City of Lost Souls

“Comes a story of love and violence spanning the globe.”

Why would Mario (Teah), a Brazilian-Japanese gangster, pull Kei (Michele Reis) out of her deportation and then hide in Tokyo's Japanese-Portuguese community with no way out of Japan? He looks to a Russian mobster for passage, and the price means holding up a drug deal between the Chinese Mafia and the local Yakuza. Takashi Miike shoots the city fast and loud, the way a man sees it when he is running.
