The Clearing

Wayne Hayes (Robert Redford) is a wealthy executive in a comfortable American house, and one morning he is taken from his own driveway by a former employee, Arnold Mack (Willem Dafoe). Pieter Jan Brugge, in his first film as director, cuts between the two men in the forest and Eileen (Helen Mirren) waiting at home with the FBI. In the woods, Wayne keeps pace behind Mack, a man in a suit among the trees.
