The Closet

(2001)Directed by Francis Veber84 minComedy
“Sometimes to save your skin, you have to come out of the closet... or go in!”

François Pignon (Daniel Auteuil), a quiet accountant at a condom factory, is about to be laid off when his neighbor Belone (Michel Aumont) suggests a way out: let the company believe he is gay. Francis Veber sends the rumor through the offices, and Pignon's colleagues, among them the macho Félix Santini (Gérard Depardieu), start to see him differently. Pignon stands in the factory corridor in his gray suit, the same man as before, with every head turning toward him.
