The Color of Friendship

Mahree Bok (Lindsey Haun) is a girl on a South African farm who wants to be chosen for a semester abroad, and she gets her wish. Her host family in Washington DC, the Dellums household of Congressman Ron (Carl Lumbly), is black, a fact she never expected and one they never saw coming from her. Kevin Hooks sets Mahree beside Piper (Shadia Simmons), the daughter of the house, and what each has been taught about race gets tested at the same table.
