The Color of Lies

A ten-year-old girl is found murdered in a small Breton town, and René Sterne (Jacques Gamblin), the painter who teaches her art, was the last to see her alive. The inspector questions him at once, the children stop coming to his lessons, and the regulars at the Bar des Amis start to look at him differently. Claude Chabrol keeps the camera on the town's ordinary faces and lets the suspicion build.
