The Color of Paradise

“Story of a little boy, who sees the world by his heart and hands not by eyes...”

Mohammad (Mohsen Ramezani) is a blind boy who comes home to his small village for the summer, glad to be back among his sisters and his grandmother. His widowed father, Hashem (Hossein Mahjoub), sees the boy as a problem to be got rid of, since a marriage and a dowry are waiting if he is free of him. Majid Majidi keeps father and son in the same rooms and fields, one of them listening for everything and the other turning away.
