The Colossus of New York

(1958)Directed by Eugène Lourié70 minHorror, Science Fiction
“Towering above the skyline ~ an indestructible creature whose eyes rain death and destruction!”

Dr. William Spensser (Otto Kruger) is a surgeon who has lost his son Jerry (Ross Martin), a brilliant scientist, and cannot let the boy's mind go. He has Jerry's brain placed inside a large robot body, and the family has to live alongside what comes back, including Jerry's widow Anne (Mala Powers). Eugène Lourié stages it in the plain, quiet rooms of a household where the machine stands in the corner and everyone avoids looking at it.
