The Comfort of Strangers

“A story of passionate obsession.”

Colin (Rupert Everett) and Mary (Natasha Richardson), English lovers on holiday in Venice, keep running into Robert (Christopher Walken), a stranger who seems to be following them. He wins them over with drinks and an invitation home, where his wife Caroline (Helen Mirren) waits. Paul Schrader lets the four of them circle one another, and whatever ties Colin to Mary starts to thin.
