The Concert

“The grand deception that became the performance of a lifetime.”

Andrey Filipov (Aleksey Guskov) once conducted the Bolshoi Orchestra, until Brezhnev ended his career for hiring Jewish musicians. Now he mops the floors of the concert hall where he used to stand on the podium. When a fax arrives from the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, he decides to gather his old players, now mostly drunks, and finish the Tchaikovsky concerto they were cut off in the middle of, thirty years ago.
