The Confession

Gérard (Yves Montand) is a government minister in 1950s Czechoslovakia, a war veteran and loyal party man who lives comfortably with his wife, Lise (Simone Signoret). Then he notices he is being watched, and soon after he is arrested without being told what he has done. Costa-Gavras follows the long interrogation while Lise, outside the walls, tries to hold on to the man she married.
