“Based on the true case files of the Warrens.”

Carolyn (Lili Taylor) and Roger Perron (Ron Livingston) move their five daughters into a Rhode Island farmhouse in 1971, and the strange events begin almost at once. Paranormal investigators Ed (Patrick Wilson) and Lorraine Warren (Vera Farmiga) are called in to help the family. James Wan builds the fear out of long, patient takes and the quiet moments just before a presence makes itself known.
