The Conspiracy of Torture

Beatrice Cenci (Adrienne La Russa) is a teenage girl in 1599 Italy who wants out of her father's castle, where Francesco Cenci (Georges Wilson) keeps her locked in the dungeon. She finds help in her stepmother and in Olimpio (Tomas Milian), a servant devoted to her, and the household begins to talk about killing him. Lucio Fulci builds this from a real case, and it makes plain what a family owes a man when the law offers a daughter no protection.
