The Convert

Thomas Munro (Guy Pearce), a former British soldier, arrives in 1830s New Zealand to live among the Māori people and convert them to Christianity. He befriends Rangimai (Tioreore Ngatai-Melbourne), a young warrior, and begins to move between two worlds that are colliding at speed. Tamahori traces what happens when a man tries to bridge a gap that may not be bridgeable, and finds that faith in conversion itself was always the real blindness.
