The Courageous Heart of Irena Sendler

“How did one woman save 2500 children?”

Irena Sendler (Anna Paquin) is a Catholic social worker in Warsaw who proposes getting Jewish children out of the ghetto, and the people around her answer with doubt. Her fellow workers, her parish priest and even her mother Janina push back. John Kent Harrison, working from a biography of Sendler, tells it plainly and keeps the camera on the people she has to persuade.
