The Crazy Ray
Albert (Henri Rollan), a night watchman atop the Eiffel Tower, wakes one morning to a Paris where no one moves, not a person in the streets and not a car at the curb. René Clair, working in 1925, follows him through the stopped city, where a handful of other people turn out to be awake. Beneath the comedy is a plain question of what a city is once everyone in it has stopped.
