The Creation of the Humanoids

(1962)Directed by Wesley Barry75 minScience Fiction
“Man's Own Creation! Can He Control Machines That Produce People?”

Capt. Kenneth Cragis (Don Megowan) is a police official in a world rebuilt after a nuclear war, where androids do most of the labor and the surviving humans call them "clickers." He has two worries: his sister, Maxine Megan (Erica Elliott), has grown close to one of them, and a rumor says the machines are learning to reason and feel. Wesley Barry builds the story around a plain question of what separates a person from a machine built to serve one.
