The Crime of Monsieur Lange
Amédée Lange (René Lefèvre) writes Western stories for a Paris publishing house, a mild man whose cowboy hero is the most forceful thing about him. When the boss who has been bleeding the firm disappears, Lange and his colleagues take over and run it as a cooperative. Jean Renoir shot it at Billancourt, and the sets show a shared courtyard where Valentine (Florelle) and the others live and work in plain view of one another.
