The Crowd Roars

(1932)Directed by Howard Hawks85 minDrama, Action
“Ablaze with excitement-heart pounding romance women never forget!”

Joe Greer (James Cagney), a famous racing champion, comes home to compete in a local race and finds his younger brother Eddie (Eric Linden) has the same dream. Joe wants him out of the sport, while Eddie wants the cars, the crowds, and a place beside him. Howard Hawks puts the camera close to the engines and keeps the family argument moving as fast as the track.
