The Cure

“The best cure for a disease is friendship.”

An eleven-year-old boy with AIDS has a summer to fill, and a neighbor kid keeps turning up at his door. Dexter (Joseph Mazzello) lives with his mother Linda (Annabella Sciorra), and Erik (Brad Renfro) is a loner who has never had a friend like him. Peter Horton directs the pair as two boys who vow to find a cure, with the bond between them as the thing they hold onto.
