The Damned

Doctor Guilbert (Henri Vidal) is a French physician snatched against his will and put aboard a German submarine at Oslo in April 1945. His fellow passengers are Nazis and collaborators, among them Garosi (Fosco Giachetti) and his wife Hilde (Florence Marly), all of them heading for South America to stay ahead of the war's end. René Clément shot the film on a studio set and around Toulon, and his tracking shots run the length of the U-boat's narrow interior.
