The Dancer Upstairs

“An honest man caught in a world of intrigue, power and passion.”

Dead dogs hang from lampposts and bombs go off across a South American capital, all of it signed by a guerrilla leader nobody has ever seen. Agustín Rejas (Javier Bardem), a police detective, is put on the hunt, working with Sucre (Juan Diego Botto) and bound to a hunt that is slowly taking over his life. John Malkovich, directing for the first time, keeps the camera close and the pace unhurried.
