The Daughter

Irene (Irene Virgüez) is fifteen and pregnant, living in a center for juvenile offenders, when Javier (Javier Gutiérrez), an educator there, offers her a way out. She can hide in the remote mountain house he shares with his wife Adela (Patricia López Arnaiz), on one condition: the baby becomes theirs. Manuel Martín Cuenca builds the film around that bargain, and around how little a promise weighs once the child is moving inside her.
