The Day of the Dolphin

(1973)Directed by Mike Nichols105 minDrama, Science Fiction, Thriller, Adventure
“Unwittingly, he trained a dolphin to kill the president of the United States.”

Jake Terrell (George C. Scott) is a marine biologist who has taught his dolphins to speak English. He works with them at a research facility, alongside his wife Maggie (Trish Van Devere) and a small team who treat the animals as colleagues. But people with a darker use in mind have noticed what the dolphins can do and are making plans for them. Mike Nichols films the animals and the humans with the same patient, unhurried attention.
