The Dead Don't Hurt

Vivienne Le Coudy (Vicky Krieps) is a French-Canadian woman who has always lived by her own rules, and in the 1860s she follows Holger Olsen (Viggo Mortensen), a Danish immigrant, to the dusty town of Elk Flats, Nevada. When Holger leaves to fight for the Union in the Civil War, she stays behind alone, in a place the corrupt mayor runs as he likes. Mortensen directs, and what Vivienne has to protect now is the life they started building together.
