“This Was the Day That Engulfed the World in Terror!”

A melting iceberg in the Arctic has freed a prehistoric giant praying mantis, and the outposts on the northern line start going silent one by one. Nathan Juran follows Col. Joe Parkman (Craig Stevens) and the palaeontologist Ned Jackson (William Hopper) as they trace the attacks back to the creature. It is moving south toward Washington and New York, and the military has not yet found a way to stop it.
