The Death and Life of Bobby Z

“To live a life of his own, he has to die first.”

A drug dealer named Bobby Z is dead, and the only person who can stand in for him is a convict. Tim Kearney (Paul Walker), a former Marine serving time, is offered a way out by DEA agent Tad Gruzsa (Laurence Fishburne): play Bobby in a hostage swap with a crime lord. John Herzfeld sets it moving fast, and when the swap goes wrong Kearney runs with Bobby's young son beside him, wearing a dead man's name.
