The Deathmaker
Fritz Haarmann (Götz George) sits across from Prof. Dr. Ernst Schultze (Jürgen Hentsch), a psychology professor who has come to decide whether a man accused of killing at least 27 boys is sane enough to answer for it. Haarmann talks, and a stenographer (Pierre Franckh) takes it all down, his motives and his methods in his own words. Romuald Karmakar builds the film from the transcripts of that interrogation and keeps the talk at the center.
