The Decline of the American Empire

Rémy (Rémy Girard) and his fellow professors want one thing from the weekend, and it is mostly to talk about sex. While the men cook for a dinner at a rambling country house, their wives and lovers work out at a Montreal gym, where Louise (Dorothée Berryman) trades stories about the men. Denys Arcand keeps the two groups apart for most of the day, cutting between the kitchen and the locker room until they sit down at one table.
