The Deer King

“Fight to survive.”

The war is over, and Van (Shinichi Tsutsumi), a former soldier, spends his days in a mine run by the empire that won it. Wild dogs carrying an incurable disease tear through the mine, and only Van and a small girl, Yuna (Hisui Kimura), come out alive. Directors Masayuki Miyaji and Masashi Ando follow them into the countryside, where Van will do whatever it takes to keep her safe.
