The Demon

“They'd be better off with strangers.”

Sokichi Takeshita (Ken Ogata) runs a small print shop and is behind on the money he owes his lover Kikuyo. She answers by leaving their three young children at his door and vanishing. His wife Oume (Shima Iwashita) did not know the children existed, and Yoshitarō Nomura keeps the camera close on her fury as the strangers settle into the house. With no money and no mother in sight, Sokichi has three small mouths to feed and a marriage that may not hold.
