The Desert Fox: The Story of Rommel

“At last! The sensational best-seller comes to the screen!”

Erwin Rommel (James Mason) is a German field marshal whose campaigns in North Africa earned him the name the Desert Fox, even among the British soldiers fighting him. Henry Hathaway follows his career as he is drawn toward the plot against Hitler (Luther Adler), with his wife Lucie (Jessica Tandy) and his friend Dr. Karl Strolin (Cedric Hardwicke) close by. Mason plays him upright and tired, a soldier in a heavy uniform with the war still on.
