A settlers' war that nobody on the frontier seems to want keeps getting stirred up, and the man behind it is Rollins (Rik Battaglia), whose gang stands to take the land once the fighting starts. Old Shatterhand (Lex Barker) and the Apache chief Winnetou (Pierre Brice) ride out to hold the peace, until a Jicarilla chief's son turns up dead and Winnetou takes the blame. Harald Reinl films it fast and wide, the horsemen small against the pale, sun-baked country.
