In Paris, Paul Lavond (Lionel Barrymore) is a respected banker until his crooked associates frame him for robbery and murder and send him to prison. Years later he escapes with a friend, a scientist who has found a way to shrink humans to a few inches tall. Tod Browning stages Lavond's revenge on the city's streets with oversized sets and tiny figures creeping through rooms built to scale.
