The Devil, Probably

Charles (Antoine Monnier) is a young Parisian who wants a reason to live and cannot find one. He tries politics, religion and psychoanalysis in turn, and each leaves him colder than before. Robert Bresson follows him through a city he finds rotting, as Alberte (Tina Irissari) and Michel (Henri de Maublanc) stay close, and the one thing left in the balance is Charles himself.
