Agnes (Anja Plaschg) marries Wolf (David Scheid) in 1750 Austria and moves into his household, where her days fill up with chores and the watching of his mother (Maria Hofstätter). Severin Fiala and Veronika Franz follow her as the work and the loneliness press on a woman who prays hard and has no one to tell. Wolf is gentle with her, and he cannot see what is happening at his own table.
