The Devil's Own

“They come from different worlds. They fight for different causes. Now, two men from opposite sides of the law are about to go to war.”

Tom O'Meara (Harrison Ford) is a New York cop with a wife, three daughters, and a spare room he offers to a young man named Rory Devaney (Brad Pitt). Rory is really Frankie McGuire, an IRA assassin sent to the States to buy anti-aircraft missiles, and the O'Mearas know nothing of it. Alan J. Pakula builds the film around the two men at the kitchen table, the cop starting to trust a guest and the guest coming to think of him as family.
