Captain Mack (Cuba Gooding Jr.) commands an elite military unit, and his orders are to find a scientist who has gone missing in the Middle Eastern desert. Jason Connery sends his squad, including Blakely (Ray Winstone) and Wesley (Ron Perlman), into the ground beneath the sand, toward an ancient evil that was never meant to be unearthed. Mack and his soldiers stand in the dark below the desert, and the evil waiting there is not of this world.
