The Devil's Trap

Chaplain Probus (Miroslav Macháček) arrives in a small town on a secret errand for the Inquisition, sent to look into the local miller. The Burnt Miller (Vítězslav Vejražka) comes from an old family whose ancestral home burned down a century ago and was rebuilt, and he can find water and tell when a building will fall. František Vláčil follows the priest's inquiry, and the miller and his son Jan (Vít Olmer) stand to lose their lives to it.
