The Diary of a Teenage Girl

“Sex, drugs, and recordings of it all.”

Minnie Goetze (Bel Powley) is fifteen, living in 1970s San Francisco, drawing comics and writing down everything she wants to know about the world. She has also started sleeping with Monroe Rutherford (Alexander Skarsgård), the boyfriend of her mother, Charlotte (Kristen Wiig). Marielle Heller fills the film with the clutter of the decade, and the story stays on Minnie and Monroe, two people who each think they're the one in control.
