The Dictator

(2012)Directed by Larry Charles83 min · RComedy
“Make way for Aladeen.”

Why would a dictator who loves oppressing his people travel to the United States to stop democracy from reaching home? Admiral General Aladeen (Sacha Baron Cohen) rules the fictional Republic of Wadiya, with Tamir (Ben Kingsley) at his side, and the trip to America puts the whole arrangement at risk. Larry Charles directs Baron Cohen's script at a straight-faced deadpan, so the absurdity lands without anyone winking at it.
