The Drowning

“If evil exists, can it be transformed?”

In 2016, the story begins in the life of Tom Seymour (Josh Charles), a psychiatrist who is called in to treat Danny Miller (Avan Jogia), a young man just released from prison. Danny was convicted of a killing he committed at eleven, and Tom's wife Lauren (Julia Stiles) watches her husband take the case. Bette Gordon builds the film on the idea that a past crime does not stay behind the person who served time for it.
