The Duchess

“Based on the incredible true story.”

Georgiana Cavendish (Keira Knightley) is a celebrated young aristocrat in 18th-century England, admired for her extravagant parties and her part in the politics of the day. She is married to the Duke of Devonshire (Ralph Fiennes), a man who wants an heir far more than he wants a wife. Saul Dibb follows the marriage as Bess Foster (Hayley Atwell) comes into the house, so that three people now share one set of rooms.
