The Eagle and the Hawk

(1933)Directed by Stuart Walker73 minWar, Drama, Action
“One a dauntless flyer, the other a relentless killer!”

Jerry Young (Fredric March) is a Royal Flying Corps pilot in World War I who keeps flying mission after mission while the strain of it builds in him. Around him are Henry Crocker (Cary Grant) and Mike "Slug" Richards (Jack Oakie), pilots in the same squadron, each facing the war's mental dangers as well as its physical ones. Stuart Walker directs the squadron's days as a steady wearing-down, with the fear showing in the men's faces more than in the air battles.
