The Eagle with Two Heads

For ten years the Queen (Edwige Feuillère) has kept her face veiled, grieving a husband killed by an assassin and wanting only to follow him. Then the poet Stanislas (Jean Marais), an anarchist who writes as Azrael, climbs into her private rooms meaning to kill her and himself. Jean Cocteau stages what follows between them, two people who find in each other the face of the dead king and a reason neither expected.
