The Empire

“Cosmic convergence.”

In a fishing village on northern France's Opal Coast, the birth of a peculiar child sets off a hidden war between extraterrestrial forces of good and evil. Bruno Dumont, who grew up in the region, plays the cosmic conflict against a farming town, with Belzébuth (Fabrice Luchini) and La Reine (Camille Cottin) leading opposing sides. Line (Lyna Khoudri) and Jane (Anamaria Vartolomei) land on either side of it, and the pull between them has nothing to do with the war.
