The Enchanted Cottage

“The whole town WHISPERED about these two!”

Laura Pennington (Dorothy McGuire) is a plain, shy maid who keeps house at a rented cottage, and that is where she meets Oliver Bradford (Robert Young), a scarred ex-soldier who was meant to spend his honeymoon there before his accident. Lonely and out of other choices, the two agree to marry. John Cromwell lets the cottage work on them slowly, in ordinary rooms, as each begins to see the other differently.
