The End of the Affair

(1955)Directed by Edward Dmytryk105 minDrama, Romance
“–or just the beginning?”

Maurice Bendrix (Van Johnson) is a writer recently out of the armed service, and he meets Sarah Miles (Deborah Kerr) in the 1940s while interviewing her for a book. She is married to Henry (Peter Cushing), and still the two of them give in to what pulls them together. Edward Dmytryk lets the end of it come from jealousy and the air raids, but the reasons turn out to be harder to name than either of them thinks.
