The Endless Trench

Higinio (Antonio de la Torre) is a newlywed in a small Andalusian village in 1936, and he has good reason to fear what the rebel side will do to a man like him. When the Civil War breaks out, he goes into a hole dug beneath his own house and tells his wife Rosa (Belén Cuesta) it will only be for a little while. Goenaga and Garaño keep the camera inside those walls, where every knock at the door could mean he is found, and the cost lands on Rosa as much as on him.
