The Europeans

Eugenia Münster (Lee Remick) is a countess raised in Europe who crosses to New England, hoping to marry well among her wealthy American relatives. James Ivory sets her against the plain white houses and strict manners of the Wentworth family, where Mr. Wentworth (Wesley Addy) receives her with polite suspicion. Her cousin Robert Acton (Robin Ellis) is the match she has in mind, and he watches her with a curiosity he doesn't quite admit.
