The Exorcist

(1973)Directed by William Friedkin122 min · RHorror
“Something almost beyond comprehension is happening to a girl on this street, in this house…And a man has been sent for as a last resort. This man is The Exorcist.”

Chris MacNeil (Ellen Burstyn) is a mother raising her young daughter Regan (Linda Blair), and she takes every sign of illness in the girl to doctors first. When no doctor can explain what is happening to Regan, Chris turns to Father Damien Karras (Jason Miller) and Father Lankester Merrin (Max von Sydow). William Friedkin builds the film on a plain, unsettling idea: that evil can enter an ordinary child in an ordinary house.
